Baby Update

Jamie went to the doctors yesterday. The doctor said the baby is measuring 29 weeks. She really doesn't have that much longer before this little guy is born. He seems to be doing well, growing big. Jamie has started some early contractions. This is not new for her, as she had early contractions with 3 of the 4 pregnancies. The doctor told her if she starts early labor with this baby she will have to stay on bed rest in the hospital. They don't want to take any chance of her not being able to deliver the baby at the right hospital. The bad news is life expectancy for this type of heart condition, Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. That is unknown at this time. The patients that had the surgeries are only in their twenties. This does not sit well with me. But we can have lots of hope and faith that they will develop something to help them live a long life.
The doctor told Jamie that the left side of the baby’s heart is basically scare tissue. It has shrunk much smaller then the right side of the heart. They will have to do surgery when he is born to keep him alive. They will expect to keep him in the hospital for 5 weeks after he is born. We hope that you will keep our grandson in your prayers.

Still snowing!

Still snowing and they closed the freeway and my husband got stuck
down in the valley and can't get home!
I love the snow, but it's not to fun to drive in.
Maybe we will have a white Christmas!

Snow in Sunny California

This is the nice surprise we woke up to this morning. What a way to celebrate the Christmas Holiday. We rarely get snow and when we do get this much snow they usually close all the schools. I know don't laugh. But in Southern California this is unusual for us. We love though! Now I just hope my husband will be able to make it home through the mountain pass.

Make a Wish

Lots of chipboard on this card. On the chipboard ribbon slot I attached the same pattern paper that I used as the background, I also sanded the edges. The label holder I applied chalk black ink then attacked to the top of the ribbon slot with glue. I used my cropAdial to punch holes for the brads. On the round chipboard I used a metallic marker then inked the edges with chalk black ink and stamped it using scrappycat clear stamps, these are great stamps!

Smile Card

Here is a card that I made using metal corner embellishments. For the chipboard I used a chalk ink pad. The colors I used were blue and black and white. I first put the blue ink on and blended the edges with black and then added white to the edges to soften the black. I edged the brown cardstock with the black ink. I also edge the pattern paper with brown chalk ink. The string is a waxy string, which is nice because it doesn't slide around on the cardstock.

Zoofari Again

Since I have 9 grandkids I can say I will get some good use out of this Stampin Up set! For the background I used a Versamark pad for the Kitty stamp and then I used a sponge dauber with a brown stamp pad for the round dots. I wanted the Kitty to be really shinny so I stamped the image with a stazon ink pad then colored in with markers, I covered the image with my versamark pad, added embossing powder then heated it with my heat gun. Now the whole Kitty is shinny Ü

Since when did I say she can grow up?

It just seemed like yesterday that we had Kelsey! now she is 19 and all grown. She has been such a blessing in our lives! She is busy, busy, busy. Work, college and friends. What a life Ü

Ezekiel and Mia

Ohhhhh, aren't they so cute! April sent me this picture of her two sweet little babies. Boy do I miss them! I can't wait to see them again.

"Awesome" School Card

This card is for someone who has achieved good grades on their report card. I used foam stamps from Inkadinkado. These stamps sure are made well. One thing I like about their stamps is that they are mounted on clear plastic. That makes it really easy to place the stamp. And when you wash them off they don't feel like they are going to fall apart. I hand cut the apples and inked the edges and drew lines with a fine black marker. The circles where punched with a 1/2" circle punch then I used an office hand punch for the centers. I also outlined the letters with a fine black marker.

Christmas Card

I made this card out of a Laminate sheet. What I did was I put the clear laminate sheet through the Laminator, cut it down to 5 1/2 x 4 1/4. I stamped with Staz-on ink for the swirls which is from CTMH rubber stamp set. I inked the bottom of the dew drops with the black staz-on ink. That is where I hid the adhesive to attach to the cardstock, under the swirls, then I put the dew drops on top of that so you don't see the adhesive. On the strip of cardstock I used a versamark pad for the water mark of swirls. I rounded the two corners.
Now I am thinking I can make a mini album out of all the sheets of laminate I have Ü

Card Challenge

Here is my first challenge that I did from http://www.kwernerdesign.com/blog/index.html
It sure makes it a little easier to make a card when you have all the colors already chosen for you. But anyways, this is what I made from the challenge.
I really love the felts and the buttons. I bought those at the convention that I went to.
The card size is 5x5. The stamp I used is from Studio G and I double stamped it to make a shadow.

Scrapbook Expo Make and Takes

I went to a Scrapbook Expo last weekend with my two daughters April and Jamie. It actually was perfect timing when we went. This is the same week that my daughter Jamie found out about the news of her unborn son. My husband and I were able to spend some time talking with her and giving her all the support that we possible can in this situation. I think being at the expo helped her get her mind off what challenge lies ahead. We really had a great time. What mother wouldn't! We shopped and scrapped on Friday and then took a class on Saturday and did some more shopping and scrapping. We won lots of fun prizes too. Between the three of us we won over 10 prizes. It was to our advantage though, because the crowd was slim pickins. This was the first event that they had in St. George and they didn't have a great attendance. Hopefully for the vendors it will be better next year!

*******************************

These are the make and takes that Robert's Craft had at their booth. Some of the things were made with the Cricut.

Baby Moffitt News...

Last week we had just learned that our Unborn grandson has a serious heart defect. It's very complicated to describe so I will link to my daughters blog, they have all the information.
http://thejjmoffittfam.blogspot.com/2008/11/broken-heart.html

This is very heartbreaking for all of us. I hope you will keep my daughter and her son in your prayers. We have great Faith that the Lord will do his will as he sees best.

Halloween Card

Happy Halloween! Since I have no kids left at home for Halloween I thought I would make some cards for my grandkids.

  • For the background paper I used dark orange cardstock and used my versa mark pad with stamps from Studio G.
  • I stamped the same design with versa mark ink pad on yellow cardstock and then embossed with black embossing powder.
  • The floss wrapped around the card is from Karen Foster called Scrapper's Floss.
  • I cut the bottom on the orange cardstock with fancy scissors and then ink the bottom of the cut.
  • I used dimensional dots under the yellow and black cardstock.

SISTERS NIGHT OUT

Nancy and Lisa
***
Leslie and Carrie
***
My sister Leslie (bottom left) took us all out for a nice evening. It's not very often that all of us sisters can get together. Leslie took us to see a play called "Girl's Room". This play had some very good actors and it made it seem you were really watching their life. She got us these really great seats, middle section, second row! After the play she took us all out to Dinner at this very nice restaurant. It's so nice to be together again and just talk. Even though we don't always agree on our political views or religion, we do love each other very much and we would do anything for each other. Now that my brother has retired from the Fire Department, we will have to get him to come down from Vegas and join us! That would be a blast!
I feel blessed to have such good sisters and brother. They are all really good people and I love them very much.

I made this card for my son's 29Th birthday.
The background is a cuttlebug embossed folder.

In Utah again...

I have been in Utah for the past 10 days taking care of some business and visiting my family. This is a picture of my sweet little grandsons. They are so cute and fun to be with. I had such a hard time leaving them! We had a picnic at the park and all 9 of my grandkids were there Ü
