Circle Journal

I am part of a group of ladies that craft together and we started a Circle Journal. Here is a page I did in one of the journals. This journal is about favorite Quotes. There are 6 of us who are trading journals. Everyone pretty much has a 6x6 album. In our group we are also making a recipe album. I'll share that when I get that started. Ü

Yummy Stew

This stew was so good.
My husband made it for us for dinner.
The carrots were the best part about the stew!

Maze Album

A few post down I posted a video on how to make a Maze book.
Here is what I did.
All it takes is one 12x12 sheet of paper and some covered chipboard

Tyler and his Sweet Family

CLICK ON PICTURE FOR LARGER VIEW
Tyler received three hand made blankets for gifts. Karen (grandma Moffitt) made the blanket on the top right side. I made the middle blue blanket and Aunt April made the bottom right blanket. What a lucky boy to have so many people love him.

Friday Highlight: Inking Cuttlebug Folders Into Scrap Pages

This is for all the Cuttlbug fans. I love the way the ink looks on the card stock after you emboss it with the cuttlebug.

Tyler's coming home soon

Tyler is doing so well he will likely go home this Tuesday. Power of Prayer does mighty things. Tyler will go home with a feeding tube because he has to alternate feedings with a bottle and the feeding tube. His little body can't withstanding normal feedings, he also has to learn how to feed from a bottle. He will also "probably" go home with oxygen. Jamie and the whole family are so excited to get him home. We feel so blessed that things are going this good. Thank you for all your prayers. It means a lot to us.

Jamie looks so happy holding Tyler.

Even the siblings get to hold Tyler. Brandon makes the best big brother.

We have been having a great time with our grand daughters, Kylie and Kaylin.
They have been with us for a week.We will miss their sweet little faces in the morning when we wake up.

Baby Tyler in the arms of his Mother, Finally

Jamie had waited a long time for this day. She was able to hold her baby for the first time yesterday. Tyler is progressing so well. We are so happy to see him in the arms of his mother.

It will be two weeks this Friday that he had his open heart surgery. He looks amazing to me.
I heard him cry for the first time today over the phone. He wasn't able to cry or do much of anything when I saw him last Saturday, so crying is good!

No more breathing tube for Tyler

I am so excited to see that Tyler is progressing well. They finally took the breathing tube out. This is a great step in his recovery. The best news of all is that Jamie will be able to hold him for the first time tomorrow.

Jim and I had to say our good byes on Saturday to Tyler. It was one of the hardest things that I had to do. We had to go back home to California. I did not want to leave him. I wished I could of held him before we left. I just wanted to cuddle that little guy so bad. I know it's so hard for Jamie not to be able to hold him. Tomorrow will be a great day for both of them.

Jamie did tell me that his main vessel is leaking, which is located inside the heart. She was told that this is a common complication. They will have to treat him by giving him some medication to lower his blood pressure. This type of complication will make it difficult for the blood to circulate. This will be a problem that he will have to deal with the rest of his life. I don't know much about it, so I will have to do some research online.
We were also able to visit with April and Marshall and their Families. Marshall looks really good. We had a really nice visit with Marshall. We were able to watch April play basketball on the church team she plays with. She still has the moves! Here are some pictures of our week.

Tyler's Surgery

The surgery went as well as expected. They did discovery that some of his arteries in the heart were too short so they had to use some artificial arteries to make them long enough to connect. They have him heavily sedated to keep him calm and so he won't feel pain. They had to give him another blood transfusion. They are carefully watching him for any signs of strokes and blood clots. During the surgery he was put on the heart and lung machine, and when they take him off of the machine, there can be complications, like having Strokes. Now is the really hard part, the first 24 hours are the critical hours.

My daughter Jamie is holding up pretty good, or, as well as can be expected.

I am just amazed at all the machines he is hooked up to. He has a nurse there by his side 24 hours a day. The doctors at Primary Children's Hospital are wonderful. The truly care about Tyler and family members.
I want to thank you all for your nice thoughts and prayers and calls. I do pass on all messages to Jamie and Jon. Thank you and please keep praying for Tyler.

Update on Tyler

I was able to visit with sweet little Tyler today. His poor little eyes were swollen shut because of the medication he is on. He is still having a hard time breathing. That won't change until he has his surgery. The doctors said they will do surgery on Monday as long as his breathing does not get worse. Touch is the only thing you can do. Jamie can only touch him. You can't rub or pat him because the medication he is on makes his nerves very sensitive and it will irritate him. They have to put an air flow in his nose. That thing is squishing his nose so hard I just want to pull it out. They do keep him sedated so he stays calm. Thank goodness for that. The really sad part is when he whimpers and you can't pick him up. It just breaks my heart to see my grand baby like this.
These are his life lines, all the machines and IV's.

Remember to keep Tyler in your prayers. Especially on Monday.

Tyler was born

Tyler Craig Moffitt was born yesterday. He weighed 8 lbs's. Not bad for being 4 weeks early.
I am now in Utah helping Jamie with the kids. I got to see Tyler in the NICU, It's really sad to see him struggle to breath. The medication that he is on, to keep the hole open in the heart, is making him very agitated, it's hard to see him uncomfortable. He will be having his heart surgery on Monday. He is such a sweet baby. Jamie was not able to hold him at all. She is only able to touch him. I was able to hold his hand. I hope you will all keep him in your prayers.

Paper Bag Card

I made this card out of a paper bag from Panera's. I thought it was a cool bag and I really liked the red on the bag, so I thought I would make a card out of it. The base of the card is craft card stock, all the rest of the card is made from the paper bag. I used three different sizes of hole punches for the flowers. Starting with a 2", 1.5 ", 1". I used black ink for the distressing. I also crinkled the paper bag for a more distressed look. The stamp is from Autumn Leaves.
